I hope you are well and have been enjoying a busy summer holiday. A big well done to everyone who recieved their GCSE and A level results this year. It's been a long wait, but was hopefully worth it and we would like to wish you good luck in whatever you have planned to do in the future.
Summer Courses 2023
Despite the inclement weather throughout July and August, MP Sports Cricket Academy courses have gone ahead as usual and have been just as much fun. It's been great to see you all you all and we hope you have enjoyed the courses as much as we have. MP Sports Academy Cricket courses are a fun way to play sport with your friends, hone your existing cricket skills or to learn something new. The courses run from 10:00 till 15:00 and are designed for children aged 5-15. Children have the opportunity to play soft and hard ball and will be coached by Manoj Parmar, a level three coach and MCC member.
Unbelievably there is only one week of courses left, from the 29th to the 31st of August, but the good news is - there are still some spaces available! Special Guest
We were very pleased to welcome Cllr Pieter Paul Barker to the ground recently to join us on one of our Summer Cricket Courses. All participating children received a tennis ball so they could continue their cricket practice at home.
Presentation Evening
This year's members' presentation evening will be held on the 8th of September at the MP Sports Cricket Academy Ground at 6-8pm. This is a great time to celebrate the achievements of the year and for parents to have the chance to test out their own cricketing skills in the Parents vs Kids friendly cricket match.
Working Party - change of date
Please be aware that the date for our working party has changed. This will now be on the 9th of September. (Thank you to Dave for his advice)
As you can imagine, preparing the ground for the winter can be a big task and we are asking for volunteers to come and give us a hand, anytime between 10am to 3pm. As a thank you, we will be providing our hard working volunteers with Indian cuisine between 11 and 1. Children are very welcome to come and play in the nets on the day.
If you have an hour or so to spare, please let us know what time is convenient for you ASAP.
India Tour 2024!
Next year, MP Sports Cricket Academy are offering a once in a lifetime opportunity to watch two of the world's best cricket teams in action, live! In February next year, India will play England, 2nd test in India!
To mark this event, we are organising an India Tour and you are cordially invited join us from the 13th to the 23rd of February.
There are two packages available, each including tickets to the five day test match. The player package includes a chance to practise and play, while the tourist package includes local sightseeing.
Both packages will be run by Manoj Parmar who is local to the area and who will be travelling with your on your tour. Benefits include:
- 3-5 star hotel stay
- Flights and travel included
- Daily evening events
- Chance to sample Indian cuisine at a variety of different restaurants
- Pre-planned itinerary of events
This incredible opportunity will cost £2,500 per person with a £650 deposit payable by the 30th of October 2023. After the 30th of October, the price will rise to £2,800 in accordance with rising travel and ticket costs.
