Welcome to the MP Sports Cricket Academy and MP Sports Development Trust March Newsletter! As you can see below, this is shaping up to be a very busy year.
Diving Catch Practice - 18th March
We are very pleased to announce the return of our 'Diving Catch Practice' at Thame Leisure Centre on the 18th of March at 1-2pm. We've been unable to hold this event for the past few years due to covid and are happy to see its return. Children age 9-15 will have the opportunity to practise their catches in the deep end of the big pool, without the worry of hurting themselves. There will also be water games and sprint races. All children should be water confident and be able to swim the length of the pool (25m). They should also be able to tread water.

Badminton Tournament - 24th March
Our aim this year is to run a tournament every month and on the 24th of March we will be running our very first badminton tournament. This will be held on the 24th of March at the Thame Leisure Centre at 6-8pm, and is open to children in years 6, 7 and 8. The tournament is free of charge and all participants will receive a medal. The winner will receive a trophy. Competition will be stiff and many keen badminton players have put their names forward.

Easter Courses - 3rd , 4th & 5th and 11th , 12th & 13th April
With Easter quickly approaching, we are looking forward to our Easter Courses. This is for children age 5-15 years and will be based at our ground on the Kingsey Road. We will be doing soft and hard ball practice and working on batting, fielding and catching as well as lots of games. These courses are great fun and will be held on the 3rd, 4th and 5th and the 11th, 12th and 13th of April. You can attend for a whole course, or just one or two days. Match Fixtures
This season's ADMCL cricket fixtures can now be found on the MP Sports Academy website. Matches are spread across April, May, June and July for our under 9s, under 11s and under 13s. This season we will be playing Thame Town, Aston Rowant, Buckland and Aston Clinton, Haddenham, Bledlow Village, Chearsley, Stewkley Vicarage, Wendover and Waddesden.
We have been busy preparing the ground for the upcoming season. Manoj and David have made good use of the 'Oggy' roller from Autoroller and the ground has been cut and rolled. The cricket square has also been prepared. David has cut the grass in the outfield and helpers Jenny and Rachel are doing a great job keeping the baby Willow trees healthy and watered.
