May news letter

Good Evening  everyone,
I hope you are well and ready for the summer!
With the weather improving and summer on the way, we have had a great start to the cricket season. Weekly training has already begun and with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations fast approaching we have a packed line-up of tournaments and events to look forward to.
Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Primary School Tournament
On the 10th of May we started our Platinum Jubilee activities with a primary school year four tournament at our ground in Towersey Road. Three schools attended this event, and the children were on great form, despite an initial downpour.
All our guests did very well, showing great skill and sportsmanship and Oakley Primary School won the trophy for most runs. Every child received a special Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for taking part.

Half Term Courses
There are only a few weeks to go now until the beginning of our half term courses. This is a great way to get active, learn new skills and to have fun! The course is aimed at children aged 5-15 years. For more information about applying for any of our courses, please see the link below: https://mpsportscricketacademy.co.uk/termform
Half term courses run on the 30th, 31st and 1st of June from 10am till 3pm. These are usually quite popular so sign up early to avoid disappointment.
update for U11 and Match reports for U9 and U13 matches
We played two Under 9s matches, the first against Bledlow Village and the second against Wendover, we lost the first game and tied the second one. It has been a great team effort to start our season and the players have all been performing well.
The under 11s have their first game in a few weeks on the 8th of June against Chearsley.
The Under 13s played their first game this week against Wendover which also resulted in a tie, it was a fantastic effort from the team as they played with the right spirit of cricket and worked very hard. They have had one game rained off but they will be playing more matches this year.
Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Under 11s Tournament
On the 12th of June, we are running an under 11s tournament as part of our Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations. The event has been very popular with over 8 teams applying to attend, from cricket clubs across the county. This will be a 100 ball tournament.

Sports in the Street
We would like to invite you all to Sports in the Street on the 3rd of June! There will be plenty of activities to try, from table tennis to hockey - as well as cricket (of course!). There will be lots of local clubs there who will do live demonstrations of their sports and provide visitors with all the information they need for those interested in joining a new club. Participating children will receive a certificate and a free gift.
So, if you’ve ever fancied playing hockey, tennis or cricket in the middle of Thame High Street, pop along on the 3rd of June from 6 till 9pm. We would love to see you there.

We are dedicated to help people access sport, irrespective of their financial status or background. For more information, please visit our website using the link above. Here you will find information about the history of the trust, who we have helped and ways you can help us, through volunteering, fundraising or donations.
New Auto-roller
We would like to send a special thank you to the team at Autoguide Equipment who have sponsored us this year and have kindly provided us with a brand-new ride on auto-roller! One of the most important parts of running a cricket academy is pitch maintenance and preparation. A properly prepared pitch is vital in producing a safe playing surface for the children, for giving optimal match results and for the best bounce. The new roller has already made a huge difference to the pitch. Thank you!

As well as our brand-new Auto-roller, we have been keeping the ground in tip top condition using fertiliser and a special weed killer spray. Many thanks to @agrovistaAMNTY for their help.
