It looks like it will be another busy year at MP Sports Cricket Academy with another packed schedule of training and events.
Indoor Cricket Training
On the 15th of January we started our popular indoor cricket training courses at Lord Williams’s School Hall. It’s been great seeing everyone again and training has been going well. We look forward to the start of outdoor training when the weather improves.
If anyone would like to start indoor training after the half term, you are more than welcome. Spaces are limited so please let us know if you would like to attend.
One-to-one sessions
Half term is already rapidly approaching and so are our one-to-one cricket sessions. If you would like to get some advanced training before the season begins, please let us know via email or through the form on our website (See link below)

Diving Catches
This year marks the return of MP Sports Cricket Academy 'Diving Catches'!
Held at the Thame Leisure Centre, this exciting event offers cricketers a chance to practice their catches in the pool. Depending on availability, we are hoping to organise these sessions at the end of February and the beginning of March, so watch this space!
Coronation Cup!
With the current cold snap, summer seems like a long way off but I’m sure it will be here before we know it.
After the success of our Queen’s Platinum Jubilee events last summer, we are now planning a ‘Coronation Cup,’ to honour the coronation of King Charles in May. We hope to hold this event on the 6th/7th/8th of May.
This will be for under 11s and under 14s and will be a great way to play some matches before the start of the cricket season. All attendees will receive a special Coronation Medal and the team with the most runs will win the Coronation Cup.

English Willow Trees
We are happy to announce that we have been continuing our tree planting programme and this month planted 50 baby Salix Alba Willow trees at MP Sports Cricket Academy Ground. Planting trees is great for the environment in so many ways. They absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, help to combat climate change, improve soil, and help to prevent flooding and erosion.
Local councillors were on hand to help with the planting, and we were very pleased to welcome Thame Town Councillors Ann Midwinter and Andy Gilbert, as well as SODC councillor Sam Casey-Rerhaye and Mr Roger Carr. We would like to thank them very much for their help.
With so many baby trees to look after, we are looking for volunteers to come and help keep our willows happy and watered. The ground is easily accessed from the Kingsey Road, and the watering system is already in place.
