Soft Ball Winter Cricket Training 2026 – September to November

MP Cricket Academy’s Winter Cricket Training gives young players the opportunity to continue playing, developing and enjoying their cricket throughout the winter, helping them stay in touch with the game and prepare for the next summer season.

We strongly encourage our players to train throughout the year. Regular winter practice helps players improve their technique, confidence and understanding of the game, while ensuring they are ready to perform when the new season begins.

We saw the benefits of this last winter. The majority of our Under-11 players attended our winter training sessions, and during the 2026 summer season they went on to win almost every game. Several players who have trained consistently with us throughout the year have also progressed to county cricket.

Whether your child is new to cricket or already an experienced junior player, winter training is one of the best ways to continue their development.

Professional Coaching & Indoor Facilities

Sessions will be led by professionally qualified ECB Level 2 and Level 3 coaches, with players having access to the excellent indoor facilities at Lord Williams’s Lower School Sports Hall.

Training will include:

• Indoor cricket nets

• Batting, bowling and fielding development

• Indoor training pitch

• Bowling machine practice

• Skills, drills and cricket games

• Age and ability-appropriate coaching

Our aim is to help every player achieve their potential, learn new skills and, most importantly, enjoy their cricket.

Softball Cricket – Ages 5–9

Time: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
School Years: 1–4

Softball winter training is available for children aged 5–9 years old.

Cost

FREE for existing MP Cricket Academy members and children who played with us during the Summer 2026 season.

For children who are not members and did not play for MP Cricket Academy during Summer 2026, the cost is:

£20 per session

We highly recommend that children taking part in our free winter coaching continue to play for MP Cricket Academy during the 2027 summer cricket season. This helps us provide opportunities fairly and allows our coaches to work with players throughout the year, monitor their progress and support their long-term development.

U9 summer membership for the 2027 season will be FREE OF CHARGE.
